MIL-P-8585A Zinc Chromate Primer is a single component, zinc-chromate pigmented, low-moisture sensitivity chromated primer primarily intended for spray application on surface treated aluminum or surfaces treated with pre-treatment coatings MIL-C-8514C or DOD-P-15328D. This primer may be used with or without top coating. When suitably thinned, it may also be used for dip or flow-coat application. As a recognized zinc chromate specification, MIL-P-8585A has long served as a reference standard for corrosion-resistant primer formulations in aerospace and industrial coating applications.
