This MIL-C-43616 specification covers the requirement for two classes of aircraft surface cleaning compounds. This specification is canceled. Superseded by A-A-59921.
This specification covers a corrosion removing compound, containing sodium hydroxide, chelating and sequestering agents, wetting agents and detergents, a polyhydroxy compound, inhibitors and accelerating agents. A solution of this compound at elevated temperature will remove rust, paint, scale, grease, dirt, asphalt and carbon immersion, from ferrous surfaces. An additive composition to be used for the purpose of prolonging the tank life of the product, is also covered by this specification. This specification is canceled. Superseded by A-A-59261.
This MIL-C-87936 specification covers two types of concentrated cleaning compounds for removal of soils from aircraft surfaces. Requirements listed in this specification apply to both types unless otherwise noted.
This MIL-D-16791 specification covers both water-soluble and oil-soluble nonionic detergents for use in preparing cleaning solutions which are effective in, and rinsable with, either fresh or sea water.
This specification covers one class of biodegradable degreasing and depreserving cleaning compound, suitable for use in removing oils, greases, asphalt, tars, and rust preventive compounds, other than a wax type, from metallic and painted surfaces.
This MIL-PRF-29608 specification covers cleaning and cleaning-lubricant aerosol compounds that do not contain Ozone Depleting Substances (ODSs) for use on electrical contacts, connectors, and switches.
This MIL-PRF-372 specification covers one type of bore cleaning compound for use in the removal of primer salts and as a temporary preservative for metallic items.
