This specification covers a series of two component epoxy-polyamide paints designed to protect metal and plastic surfaces from environmental attack.

Paints covered by this specification are intended for use on sandblasted steel, aluminum, fiberglass where a hard,durable, chemically resistant, non porous coating is desired. Formulations suitable for areas aboard ship, such as bilges, tanks,and exterior underwater hull. Coating system and instructions are covered in applicable Navy directives oro technical manuals. Type III and Type IV are for use in air quality management and air pollution control districts where volatile organic (VOC) regulations apply.  Type III is a 3 coat system with VOC less than 340 grams per liter ( 2.8 lbs per gallon). Type IV is a two coat system for use where VOC is limited to 340 grams per liter ( 2.8 lbs per gallon). Provided both in QPL and non QPL versions.
