Product Description

A semi-gloss, alkyd enamel formulated for metal surfaces of ammunition containers and ammunition. This coating is available in Class 1 – Rapid Drying or Class 2 – Flash Drying.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Surface must be clean, dry and free of all contamination before application. Prime per specification instructions.
STEEL:Surface must be clean and free of all oil, grease and foreign material. Badly rusted or pitted steel should be cleaned by commercial sandblasting and primed the same day.

 

APPLICATION & REDUCTION

TMIL-E-16663A Enamels can be applied by conventional or airless spray application. For spraying, thin up to 10% or as needed with Xylene. For brushing, use as is or with minimum thinning. Type II should be thinned with Griggs T0123 Griggs Baking Enamel Reducer at 40%-45% by volume for spray application. Spray one tack coat followed by one full wet coat. For Type II, allow part to air dry for 30-45 minutes at room temperature. Pre-heat oven to 250-300 Degrees Fahrenheit, place part in oven and bake for 30-45 minutes.
