This specification covers one type of permanent resin coating for the surfaces of metal parts and engine components. The materials have a low VOC, are corrosion inhibitive, chemical resistant, and strippable.

MIL-R-3043C is intended for use as a permanent corrosion preventive, oil resistant coating for the metallic nonbearing surfaces of engine parts and other components. This material may also be applied to gear teeth and other such bearing surfaces where the wearing off of the film will cause no detrimental effects, and where tolerances greater than .002 inch are acceptable.
